2023: ADP unveils manifesto, inaugurates Presidential Campaign Council

The Action Democratic Party, or ADP, has unveiled its manifesto and inaugurated its Presidential Campaign Council, or PCC, seventy-one days before the 2023 presidential election. In contrast to the nepotistic and narrow-minded leadership phenomenon, the PCC promises a political direction that will lead Nigeria to economic prosperity, security, peace, stability, and equity.

The National Chairman, as well as the ADP Presidential Candidate, made the remarks on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Campaign Council. Yabagi Yusuf Sani claimed that if elected, the government would implement the rule of law, equality, and justice principles of governance, as well as 35 percent affirmative action for women.

Sani said that a sound fiscal and monetary policy plan was necessary to stabilize the economy. He said that only a knowledgeable and competent party and leader can do this, and he promised that he would do so as president. ADP views itself as a credible alternative to the leadership that the country has had since the Fourth Republic began in 1999. Sani said, "As far as we might be concerned, the races are a watershed in the popularity-based direction of Nigeria which simultaneously put our residents at the junction where they should go with unequivocal decisions on the fate of this country. They will either help or hurt Nigeria.

“The ADP views itself as the Trustworthy Alternative to the leadership that the country has had since the Fourth Republic began in 1999.

“We are a platform of disciplined, patriotic, and truly progressive Nigerians who share a vision of liberating the nation from the grip of corrupt, inept, incompetent, chameleonic, and self-seeking elements that have hijacked leadership under a variety of names and identities as political parties. Ours is a platform of true progressives.

“Nigerians should expect a political direction from my presidency that will lead them to economic prosperity, security, peace, stability, and equity. This is in contrast to the phenomenon of nepotistic and narrow-minded leadership that has brought us to this precarious economic stagnation, which has led to an unprecedented level of extreme poverty and insecurity, which is threatening the very foundations of our existence as a people.

"Our statement too is a well-informed report completed by specialists on the ongoing difficulties confronting our country and proffers sober-minded and exact arrangements.

“Our chosen platform, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), was founded in 2017 against the backdrop of the demands of the political currency in 1999 when our dear country reverted to the representative government to usher in the Fourth Republic under democratic rule.

“A few discerning and patriotic Nigerians had noticed at the time that the most prominent political parties and actors were not moving democracy in the desired direction.

“It was observed that a credible alternative platform was required to avoid decades of military incursion and the associated retardation in human and societal progress in order to launch the country on the lane of rapid economic transformation, social integration, and political re-orientation.

“These heinous acts assumed a terrifying dimension that was unprecedented in the nation's history, and as a result, corruption and outright theft from the treasury increased. Reports of huge sums of money being stolen, mishandled or diverted into private accounts by government officials and their associates flooded the landscape.

“Nepotism, cronyism, and other primordially divisive sentiments were enthroned, unreservedly, as fundamental government policies and articles of faith. Tragically, these negative propensities have become considerably additional uplifted and predominant in the former years from 2015.

"Consequently, despite the rudderless, visionless, and reckless disposition and actions that have resulted in the degeneration of the nation's economic profile, the majority of the populace has inevitably suffered material deprivation, overwhelming poverty, and despondency."
